These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of https://tacomaconnections.com (the “Site”) and related services, including our business directory, event listings, maps, and community programs such as Link & Save Tacoma. By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

1. About Tacoma Connections

Tacoma Connections is a community platform that helps residents and visitors discover local businesses, events, attractions, and destinations in Tacoma, Washington — including places near Tacoma T Line stations. The Site is provided for informational and community purposes. We strive to keep listings accurate and current, but we do not guarantee that all information on the Site is complete, correct, or up to date at all times.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, submit a listing, or claim a business on the Site. By using the Site, you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.

3. Accounts and Registration

Some features require an account. You are responsible for:

• Providing accurate registration information
• Maintaining the security of your login credentials
• All activity that occurs under your account

Notify us immediately if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.

4. Business Listings

4.1 Submitting a listing

When you submit, claim, or manage a business or event listing, you represent and warrant that:

• You have the authority to submit information on behalf of the business or organization
• All information you provide is truthful, accurate, and not misleading
• You have the right to use any photos, logos, text, or other content you upload
• Your listing complies with applicable laws and these Terms

4.2 Public display

Listing information you submit may be displayed publicly on the Site, including on directory pages, maps, category pages, station/region pages, and search results.

4.3 Listing approval, expiration, and renewal

We may review, approve, edit, reject, hide, or remove listings at our discretion. Listings may expire after a set period unless renewed. Expired listings may be hidden from public view but retained so owners can renew them.

4.4 Claiming a listing

If a business is already listed on the Site, the authorized owner or representative may use our claim process. We may request verification before granting access to manage a listing.

5. Link & Save Tacoma and Promotions

Some businesses may participate in Link & Save Tacoma or similar programs that mention ORCA card or transit-related offers.

• Participating businesses are responsible for honoring their own offers, hours, and terms
• Tacoma Connections does not process payments or discounts directly unless explicitly stated
• We do not guarantee that any offer, discount, or promotion will remain available
• Disputes about offers are between the customer and the participating business

6. User Content and License

You retain ownership of content you submit to the Site (“User Content”), including business descriptions, photos, logos, hours, and promotions. By submitting User Content, you grant Tacoma Connections a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, distribute, and adapt that content for the purpose of operating, promoting, and improving the Site and directory. You may request correction or removal of listing content by contacting us or using available account tools, subject to reasonable retention needs and legal requirements.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Site for unlawful, fraudulent, or misleading purposes
• Submit false, defamatory, infringing, or harmful content
• Impersonate another person or business
• Scrape, harvest, or copy Site content without permission
• Interfere with the Site’s security, performance, or functionality
• Upload malware, spam, or unauthorized advertising
• Use the directory to harass, discriminate against, or harm others

8. Third-Party Links and Services

The Site may include links to third-party websites, maps, social media pages, or business websites. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, policies, or practices. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk.

9. Paid Services

If we offer paid listing packages, subscriptions, promotions, or other premium features through the Site, additional payment terms may apply at checkout. Prices, features, and availability may change. Refund terms, if any, will be stated at the time of purchase.

10. Intellectual Property

The Site, including its design, branding, text, graphics, logos, and software (excluding User Content), is owned by Tacoma Connections or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or exploit Site materials without our prior written permission.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Site and all content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tacoma Connections disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that listings, maps, directions, hours, or offers are always accurate or current.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tacoma Connections and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from your use of the Site. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, our total liability for any claim relating to the Site will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the claim or (b) fifty U.S. dollars ($50).

13. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Tacoma Connections and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Site, your listings, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.

14. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Site or remove listings at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or if necessary to protect the Site, users, or the public.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will show when changes were made. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Site will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Pierce County, Washington, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
