1. Scope of This Policy
Tacoma Connections is primarily a community directory and discovery platform. Most business listings may be offered at no cost. This Refund Policy applies when you pay for premium or paid services, such as:
- Featured or premium business listings
- Listing packages or upgrades
- Subscriptions for listing visibility or account features
- Paid promotions or advertising placements
- Other digital services sold through the Site
This policy does
not apply to:
- Discounts, offers, or promotions provided directly by participating businesses (including Link & Save Tacoma / ORCA-related offers)
- Goods or services purchased from third-party businesses found through the directory
- Free listings or free account features
2. Digital Services
Paid Tacoma Connections services are digital in nature. Once a listing package, upgrade, or promotion is activated and published on the Site, the service is considered delivered.
Because of this, refunds are generally limited after a paid service has been activated, unless required by law or covered by an exception below.
3. Refund Eligibility
3.1 Refunds we may approve
We may issue a full or partial refund, or account credit, in situations such as:
- Duplicate charge: You were billed more than once for the same order
- Technical error: A system or billing error prevented the service from being delivered as purchased
- Unauthorized payment: A payment was made without your authorization (subject to verification)
- Service not activated: You paid for a listing package or upgrade that was not activated within a reasonable time through no fault of your own
- Listing rejected before activation: You paid for a listing submission that we rejected before the paid service was activated, and no equivalent service was provided
3.2 Refunds we generally do not provide
Refunds are generally not available when:
- A paid listing, promotion, or package has already been activated or published
- You changed your mind after purchase
- Your listing was removed or hidden because it violated our Terms of Service
- Your business closed, moved, or no longer wishes to participate
- You did not renew a listing before it expired
- You are dissatisfied with traffic, leads, or business results from a listing
4. Subscription Services
If you purchase a subscription-based listing package:
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled before the renewal date
- Canceling a subscription stops future billing but does not automatically refund the current billing period unless required by law
- Access to subscription benefits typically continues until the end of the paid term
- Refund requests for subscription charges must be submitted within 7 days of the charge, and only if the subscription service was not substantially used during that period
5. Free Listings and Account Features
Free listings and free account features do not involve payment and are not eligible for refunds. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue free features at any time.
6. Link & Save Tacoma and Business Offers
Tacoma Connections may help promote community programs such as Link & Save Tacoma. Any discount, ORCA-related offer, or in-store promotion is offered directly by the participating business.
Refund requests related to those offers must be directed to the business that provided the offer. Tacoma Connections does not process refunds for third-party products, meals, services, or in-store transactions.
7. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, contact us within the timeframes below and include:
- Your full name
- Account email address
- Order number or payment receipt
- Date of purchase
- Reason for the refund request

8. Refund Timeframes
- One-time purchases: Refund requests must be submitted within 14 days of purchase, unless the service was never activated
- Duplicate or erroneous charges: Contact us as soon as possible
- Subscription charges: Contact us within 7 days of the charge date
Requests submitted after these periods may be considered at our discretion but are not guaranteed.
9. How Refunds Are Issued
Approved refunds will be returned to the original payment method used at checkout whenever possible. Processing times depend on your bank or payment provider and may take
5–10 business days after approval.
In some cases, we may offer account credit instead of a cash refund if you agree to that option.
10. Chargebacks
If you believe a charge is incorrect, please contact us before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute. We will work in good faith to resolve billing issues quickly.
Unauthorized chargebacks on valid completed services may result in suspension of your account or listing.
