Sometimes the best way to enjoy Tacoma is simply to get outside, meet your neighbors and discover what’s happening in another part of the city.
Move & Groove Tacoma 2026 brought that community feeling to Tacoma’s South End with an afternoon of outdoor activities, music, biking and family fun.
The event connected Birney Elementary School, Ryan’s Park and Charlotte’s Blueberry Park, giving people the opportunity to walk, bike and roll through the neighborhood at their own pace.
There was something for just about everyone. Families enjoyed face painting, balloons, games and activities in the parks. Children had opportunities to experience biking, while riders could enjoy the bike routes and join a family-friendly group ride. Live music added to the atmosphere and gave people another reason to stop, relax and enjoy the park.
What made Move & Groove special was the community atmosphere.
Events like this give us a chance to get away from our normal routines, spend time outdoors and meet people from throughout Tacoma. Children can try something new, families can be active together, and neighbors can discover parks and parts of the city they may not normally visit.
That’s what connecting a community is all about.
Tacoma Connections was excited to participate as a vendor and meet people face-to-face. It was also a wonderful opportunity to introduce more people to TacomaConnections.com and our mission of helping residents and visitors discover Tacoma’s local businesses, events, attractions and neighborhoods.
You don’t have to travel far to have a great day.
Take a walk. Ride a bike. Visit Tacoma parks. Listen to local music. Attend a neighborhood event. Stop at a local business you’ve never visited before.
There is a lot happening right here in our community — sometimes we just need to get out and discover it.
